Torch Studio

On the morning of your booked day (and sometimes the night before), we’ll end an email with everything you need to know to make the most of your time in the Studio. This email will also confirm your booking times, any rental equipment you requested, and special accommodations if necessary.

Torch Studio features a loading zone and a few street spots right outside of the building. We have a ramp that rolls right into the building (NO STAIRS) for even easier access. All street parking along Hume Avenue and neighboring streets is free—please pay attention to signs as spots are limited to two hours on weekdays (unlimited on weekends).

Absolutely! Outside catering is a great way to energize and fuel a long day of shooting. We have a long list of recommended caterers (including Tate Old Town, Mae’s Market, and Eco Caters) who are familiar with our studio—all you need to do is ask!

Whatever you bring along! If you’re short on lighting, boom mics, or filters, we offer short-term rentals on production equipment.

We generally like to meet our clients in person to give them a quick tour of the space, amenities, and guidelines.

Please be aware that we actively deploy security cameras in the office and studio areas for security purposes (ours and yours!). If cameras and recordings are an issue, we can arrange for our Studio Manager to be present for the shoot for an additional fee. Please email us for details.

Smoking is not allowed inside the building.

As Torch Studio is thoroughly inspected and cleaned between each booking, you can expect to walk into the space knowing it’s ready for whatever you bring to it. To ensure the health and happiness of our clients, we will provide complimentary disinfecting wipes, soap, paper towels, and hand sanitizer.

While we include post-rental cleaning as part of our service, we do request that guests play their part in placing trash in provided receptacles and treat the furnishings and decor as if it were their own.

Keep in mind we are a small business that depends on your dependability. Please only book the days and times you know you will need as last-minute adjustments—even with a three-day window—greatly diminish our ability to serve clients who could otherwise use the space.

That said, we are happy to accommodate changes to your booked time up to 3-days before your booked time, pending availability.

If you are within a 3-day window and wish to reduce your booked time, you are responsible for the hours you booked.

If you need additional time, we are happy to accommodate last-minute requests to extend your hours at the studio, as long as it’s available. However, requests are not guaranteed.

Guests who stay beyond their requested time (and we’ll know—we have cameras) will be billed at a rate of $95/hour for time that is beyond the booking. If your shoot runs long, a courtesy text is a helpful heads-up and ensures a great working relationship.

Guests may cancel their Booking until 7 days before the event start time and will receive a full refund (including all Fees) of their Booking Price. Guests may cancel their Booking between 7 days and 24 hours before the event start time and receive a 50% refund (excluding Fees) of their Booking Price. Booking cancellations submitted less than 24 hours before the Event start time are not refundable.

Unfortunately we do not allow pets in the studio.

Torch Studio is fully furnished with a bistro table, chairs, two desks, and living room furniture to increase shot variety and provide ample room to take a break. We also provide a wardrobe rack and steamer, two cocktail tables and event seating/chairs. Our ensuite, private restroom provides ample room and a full-length mirror to change and refresh. There are mirrors in every room to check your look in between shots if you’re on camera, too!

Our kitchen comes complete with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and espresso machine, french press, instant kettle, and toaster for those extra-long shooting days.

Our office area offers plenty of places to reboot and recharge. Wifi is not provided, but hotspots work great!
